The Dead Century is happy to introduce “Callicles.” It’s a spooky, bluesy number, a little eclectic and something of a cautionary tale. We wrote and recorded this along with the rest of the tracks that would later become The Well, but this track didn’t fit, so we held on to it for a while. Maybe it’s best we did: many of the ideas that the song’s namesake proposed (rule by might, favoring pragmatism over compassion, the celebration of technocracy over morality) have become eerily popular lately.
"Callicles" was recorded at Creation Audio in Minneapolis and in the basement of a gym in St. Paul. The great Miles Hanson produced it. Alec Ness (Rare Form) handled the Mastering. You'll find it on all major streaming platforms.
